Hey Allan,
UNDEFINED stocks represent stocks that are NOT assigned to sectors and industries. If your approach to investing is top-down, having many stocks not identified properly will severly hamper your search for sector/industry strength. Perhaps some QP users can chime in with their experiences. But I'll throw in my 2 cents and my 2 cents might be worthless or valueable.
The undefined categories show up because when your database was created it used 2 files that dont accurately reflect the Quotes Plus database structure.
I cannot recall as to when QP changed over to the 10 Sectors and 150 Industries format but that is the moment when the 2 files (Broker.Industries and Broker.Sectors) within Amibroker
wre no longer sychronized with QP data.
A fellow member to this forum, Don Lindberg, has generously posted on this topic and maybe you can search the forum database for his previous posts. The quick and dirty fix is to open the 2 files i mentioned before and modify them to reflect QP structure(not as tough as it sounds). After making modifications create a new datbase and viola most of those undefined stock are defined.
Allan that's pretty close to what needs to happen, maybe some other QP users can be more precise on the how, why and when.
Good Luck
Jim Wiehe

Subject: [amibroker] Undefined Lists..
Is it safe to delete the various "Undefined" watchlists that
mysteriously are created when I run ATC to create sectors??There are
thousands of stocks in the Undefined list
TIA
Allan
