That would only happen if you have the ticker toolbar disabled.
Check View | Toolbars. I have all 8 checked, but you may want to uncheck
some less-used ones to preserve screen real estate.

Thanks Bob, on my machine F4 does not do anything although the manual
says it is quick find. I tried to look for the command quick find to
reassign it back to f4, but I couldn't find it.
