Not sure what you mean with 'short cuts'...
however I have created many folders holding specific custom groups of functions, modules, include file, indicators, system building blocks, and you name it. These I access from the Chart tree.
This functions like a formula data base (but of course i make additional backups). For example, when starting to design a new system I start with a system template from my chart tree. The only thing i need to define are the buy/sell signals and it can be Backtested. If i want to simulate the system using playback with trade logging to DebugView i append a DBVLogging module, also just copied from the Chart tree. Adding IBc functions to autotrade the system, I just append that module to the previous modules. And so on. This way you can test new ideas in minutes instead of days/weeks and, if it works you can trade it just as fast :-)
The only thing I wish for would be a right-click 'copy' option so that i can copy code from the chart tree and place the code where I want it - they don't always should be at the end of the code.
best regards,
herman
