Okay, Insert Linked seems to make the difference. Any chance of
having an option to make this the default? I hate it when I don't
have control over how things get named and what goes where! This
would also allow me to double click on charts rather than dropping
the menu to Insert Linked.
Re: "FYI: when you use FORMULA EDITOR, the file is ALWAYS saved in
the original location !!!"
Even when I use Insert rather than Insert Linked??? I don't think it
works this way for me or else my disk wouldn't be filling up with
extra versions. I was strictly using the Formula Editor until I got
frustrated by the above.
What if I drag a formula from the chart tree to the Auto Analysis
window (and then edit it)? Is that the equivalent of Insert or Insert
Linked?
I know you've been frustrated with people using external editors for
a long time. Personally, I've finally come around to using the
Formula Editor "most" of the time because of it's obvious advantages
(e.g., integration with the rest of the system). Now if it just had
parenthesis matching and multiple file tabbed editing, there probably
wouldn't be any reason for me to go back to my perverse external
editing ways.
