Treliff,

I was able to get it to work....here is how...

open up my computer > program files > Amibroker
re-name my current Us Stocks data to Us-Stocks1....my database is already selected to open Us-Stocks
Drag the Zip file > Us Stocks folder to Amibroker.....
Close everything
Open up Amibroker
I now get the messages that not enough data to produce a chart
Select Amiquote...and update.

Honestly Dick, I'm a little perplexed as to why it *does* work,
meaning the AmiQuote update. There seems no way to extract the ticker
list from AmiBroker if there are no quotes yet.

Susan what I do is extract Stocks-XLS.zip, open in excel, copy/paste
column D into notepad (delete 1st row) and save this with .tls
extension, then open this in AmiQuote.

No effort at all by the way, but Dick if there's a smarter way please
enlighten us.

PS Jim: as always, gratefully received.
