Hi Fred,

You are right.  Optimization isn't a dirty word in my book, as it is, 
in one form or another, necessary.  The mere act of choosing a 
trading system is an optimization.  It must be done, validated and 
interpreted properly, as you well know.

It only becomes a dirty word when improperly used and expectations 
exceed reality.
