I just now solved it-sort of.
TC emailed a way to test if AB could communicate with TC, and it did [hence
it was AB's problem and I should bug off].
Decided to delete a symbol from my local DB and try to get it-voila, thru
7-17.
So I created a new TC DB-will just have to copy the watch lists, etc from
the old to the new.

I honestly don't remember exactly which series of "fixes" I opted for,
but I believe that I did *not* uninstall TC first.....just used the
"Repair" option that the telechartinst.exe offered, thinking I could
always do an uninstall afterwards, if the problem remained.
I may have done a "Backup/Restore" first from TC's File menu, though I
wasn't too concerned about that as I mainly just use TC for a data
source and don't do much pcf or easy scan stuff anymore. I probable did
a few computer reboots while searching for the solution to my problem,
too....
