Hi. I’ve pretty happy with my new computer
configuration except for one major issue – a new monitor. For
the last several years, I’ve been buying Viewsonic VP201’s
. They are not as flashy as some current monitors and are
relatively slow if you want to play games on them, but they are RAZOR SHARP at
1600X1200! That’s the good news.
The bad news is that Viewsonic doesn’t make the
VP201. Now the market for high resolution monitors seems to have
changed radically. It seems like virtually all of the monitors are wide
screen for viewing DVDs. They have flashy colors but mediocre
sharpness.
What’s worse is that CompUSA has shut down all of its
stores in the Seattle
area. So now the only places to go and check out monitors are Best
Buy (been there; nothing qualifies), local ‘puter shops (limited
inventory, and I’ve already been to many of them), and maybe
Costco.
This is a tough one. Any suggestions?
Regards,
Dan.
