[amibroker] JScript/VBScript Why?

Another newbie question.
Some of the Formulas in the AFL library contain code that is written 
with jscript or vbscript, can someone elabarate why? Is it easer, more 
complete, better functions or just programmer preferance? Another words 
just easer to write that part of the program for them?
