Why do you want to re-invent the wheel? QuoteTracker utility created by Jerry Medved already does the needful and gets the data from the NSE website. AB already has a data plug-in for medved QT.
What is the problem with the data that QT retrieves from
Nseindia.com? None except that it works in serial i.e. picks up data for one ticker then gets the data for the next ticker. In the process by the time it gets back to the first ticker after retrieving data for the all the tickers several minutes have elapsed and you might not see a significant high/low or high volume tick. Is this fault of the software?
No.You must remember it has to fetch the data from the webiste which has a constraint on the bandwidth and then you have to factor in a whole host of constraints in addition to the one at the server end.. The data is not being pushed into the application hence the delay.
AFAIK if you want streaming real time data without any delays you need to pay for it. Esignal is already in India and AB has a data plug-in for Esignal. If you are not particular about using AB for your real time trading you can look at the offering from Reuters
i.e. MetaStock Quote Center. Plus there were a few home grown services providers whose offerings are hardly worth the bother.
