I've never used Outlook, period.  All my email accounts I've ever had been top posters default.

About 34% of the world is left side drive and 66% right side drive by population.  About 72% of the world miles driven are right side.

India is not an island unless it has slipped off a continent since yesterday.  Same thing for South Africa and a great deal of the countries on the west coast of Africa -- all left side drive.

You won't get flamed in this group -- way too mature and involved for such childish behavior. Differences of opinion are part and parcel of this group.  You just need to be right or at least accurate.

Not an issue, it's a convention.

It's universal, because it's an Outlook default. I could explain why, but prefer
not to get flamed<vbg>.

In the Usenets it's (usually) bottom posting due to after market third party
mailers.

Personally, its doesn't bother me either way. However prefer the respondent to
snip the original message to the relevant facts, and remove all the "spam" added
by the mail server. To me, IMHO, it's simple courtesy and affords the respondent
to review his reply for content, thought, and spelling.

It's like driving on the left or on the right - its a convention. The issue
happens when switching between groups (or continent), and forgetting the group's
convention <g>! BTW, have you noticed that isolated island type nations aret he
ones that drive on the left? Wonder why?

Life goes on <g>.
