That might occur if your firewall locks
up. When my Symantec locks up, it consumes 50%, half of my HT processor. It is
related to run32dll or whatever it is called, and also related to using lots of
internet connections at once. This stopped once I unloaded some nVidia graphics
drivers which interfered with my FTP-program and Outlook.
If you are using something like that,
check those things. Use the Task Manager to see exactly which program that is
stealing CPU power.

Using eSignal, IB and Skype I get 50% of my CPU cycles by
