AAPL works fine as AAPL. Make sure it's not checked as "Local Database only"
(Symbol->Information).
Throttling: IB won't let you load too much data too fast for fear of
overloading their servers. If you want more data faster you have to pay
eSignal or DTN or similar.

I just downloaded and started to play with AB and IB data feed. And
for some reason most of the symbols I add don't work. For instance
this symbol works INDU-NYSE-IND and EUR.USD-IDEAL-CASH but this
doesn't: aapl or aapl-smart-stock or aapl-smart-stk or
aapl-nasdak-stk. And neither all the majors like GE, IBM etc. And
what's with the IB throtling message?.
Im on AB 4.80.1 on a Imac on virtual pc. My IB instance works fine.
