Hi Nick,
Yes, you are correct. After I build the new blank database I pull all
the daily data back in it for about 15 years. This accounts for splits
as well as for those stocks that have their symbols changed. Since I
do it after the market closes on Friday, I really don't spend any time
waiting for the data. This ensures I have a 'clean' database (as much
as I can). As for the Excel file, I don't use it at all. Someone asked
for it one time so I build it for them.
