Hi
let me clarify more... I keep my all inidicators under /Old/Custom/ tree.. Also I insert them only via "Insert linked" so I can edit them directly without copies since all my indicators are custom tailored. I have 300 custom indicators, use 60 tabs with 2 indicator per tab and a dozen of databases.
Ok the wizard scans for awl files to check which indicator is not in use and is to be deleted.
I got another idea and it goes:
Since I know which awl file is in use, I removed those *.awl layouts that are created more than a year ago.
Then run Indicator wizard again, DESELECTED all indicators marked for deleting and pressed finish button.
Since then I have no problem.
Thank you guys Ron, Graham, Tomasz for help.

Graham, my understanding is that indicator maintenance only removes things that have not been used for awhile.
These items are still accessable in your computer after maintenance has removed them from where-ever they were
found by indicator maintainence.
I don't know how to technically describe what it does. Ron D

Ron, I do write thousands of AFL files but have never had this message and wondered under what exact conditions it appears. Do these files all have to be within the custom subdirectory, or just under the formulas directory. Do they all have to be used in indicators windows somewhere, or just be present on the hard drive.
When running the maintenance what exactly is done. Are they removed only from the chart screens or totally removed off the hard drive and deleted? Again is this only what is in the custom subdirectory, formulas directory or all the hard drive?
I have not had this message and I do have many, many AFL files charted within many layouts and databases

Under tools>indicator maintence you will be presented with the Maintence wizard. Let it do its thing, and you will be ok. Ron D

What is the reason for this message (what has to occur for this message to come up) Have forgotten the last time this was discussed and did not take notes at the time
What exactly does the indicator maintenance do
I cannot find anything in help files for this.

The first time that I used Indicator Maintenance, I got a lot of Black Charts. However, I did try to second guess the results that it found.
Since that first time I have received several more Notices that I should use indicator maintenance with not problems at all.
I now let indicator maintenance have its own way with no second guessing at all, and it has never been a problem since. Ron D

Hi
I got message stating above. Well, last time I did as suggested(cleaned unused indicators) and I had got my layouts left empty ( or some of them, dont remember now.)
How could I preserve my layouts and remove this message ? I dont wish to use indicator maintenance tool if anyhow possible.
Any ideas ?
Thanks for any reply
