Did anyone answer this post? I think I am now losing data. I set the backfill length to 30 days, which i do periodically to make sure and fill any gaps, and now my Dec Emini, Euro, Yen, CD$, etc. contracts only go back to Nov.. 1st. I know they went back further than that because I have had ESZ6 in the database since before I rolled from September. And I just watched my oldest date on the Canadian dollar contract switch from 9/29 to 10/31. Does anyone know what's going on?

This is going to create a huge problem for me because I was saving these contracts to create a continuous contract of intraday data down the road. I had it from the beginning on the CBOT grains, now I don't know what I have. BTW, I have talked with the Pinnacle Data about writing a program to link futures contracts from IB into a continuous contract. They are interested in doing it, but they can't believe it doesn't already exist. Does anyone know of any software already out there that will do this?

James

Subject: [amibroker] New backfill procedure?

Anybody else notice this? Did I miss the documentation?

The new IB data plugin seems to work "old to new" such that if you specify more bars to be backfilled than you allow to be saved in the database configuration, then you can end up with a gap in the current data.
