Hello,
I
have the same problem with USB external disks (3) that I use for data backup
purpose.
When
I turn on my computer, sometimes Windows XP pro does not start.
The
only solution I found is to switch off my external USB drives....
Iwindows
XP bug I suppose....

Stick Start-Up Problem??
My 64bit Abit MotherBoard Computer
failed to start properly.
It stalled at a screen
that said to
"press TAB to show Post screen,
DEL to enter SETUP"
I did both of these, and I
got no response at all.
I then held the start button till it
died, and waited about a minute before I tried to start again,
and I still had the same problem.
I again pressed the start
button until it died, and waited about a half hour before attempting another
start.
However, just before I was going to
try another startup, I remembered
that I had left a memory stick with
some AFL codes stuck into a USB port, so I removed the memory stick
before my third start attempt, and it started fine.
However, this memory stick has been
stuck in that USB for the last 15 or so starts.
Could a memory stick
possibly randomly cause this kind of start-up
problem? Ron D
