Nick.
Without being too specific, AB is the BEST product around, with wonderful community and great (great!) support given by the software's developer.
You can definitely achieve what you just wrote, and in much faster time, as AB is superior to any other TA software I'm aware of.
Good Luck,
Short.

Hi,
Im concidering purchasing AmiBroker. Before I take it for a test drive (time consuming converting enough scripts to check it works for me) I thought I'd ask for a bit of feed back here. I have experience of a
few charting packages but Tradestation (2000i) and Ensign are my current favourites. The former for its solid scripting and system type stuff. The latter for its array of drawing tools and general easy interface and good visulisations.
Firstly using IB as a data feed (OK Im a cheap &^%$) is this pretty rock solid? I know backfill can be a slow and TWS can be a bit finiky with disconects sometimes. Does AB handle this robustly?
Glancing at the AB scripting guide it looks like it will do what I
need (even if it means learning yet another set of syntax!!). Any gottchas? I do a fair bit of multi time frame stuff...that looks well catered for but does it slow thinks down if its all being calculated each tick? CAn you dispaly two time frames in the same chart btw?
e.g. 10min and 60min dax on the same chart/axis? I guess its easy enough to 'script' a higher time frame bar. Is there any limit on number of plots in a single script?
I guess from the point of view of general usability and ease of moving
round and drawing stuff I guess I need to try it. Any Ensign/ ex Ensign users out there? How does it compare.
Thanks in advance, Nick
