I don't want to start an mine is bigger than
yours debate. However, the key issue for me was - how do I conveniently backtest
a strategy over a number of instruments rather than on a continuous e-mini
contract say. You should also have look at the 0mega-list on eskimo.com and
see what is said regarding stability. To be fair it does seem to have improved.

"Top Windows Pick" in AAII Computerized Investing
Fantastic news! Thanks for sharing!
Keep up the
EXCELLENT work... related to this, a new aquaintance who is a consistently
successful stock index (e-mini) futures trader has been leaning on me --
well, rather than paraphrase, here is part of his last email to
me:
"Tradestation is free and the $4 for 10 trades is for futures.
Stocks are only $1 per hundred shares with no minimum ticket charge, and
goes lower after 500 shares. Options are also $1 per contract with no
minimum. You can do 1 option and will only cost $1. Most brokerages
have a $14.95 or some amount like that ticket charge and then the
option commission on top of that. Tradestation is the absolute best
deal out there. No contest. The data feed is rock solid and fast.
Orders executed at lightening speed. It's hard to imagine using
anything else."
Anyone wish to respond to this before I take a look
at Tradestation?
Thanks,
Brian
