Hi Allan,
Happy Holidays.
I did take a look at both of them and
noticed that they were somehow associated but didn’t read how. HGSI
costs are close to that of Daily Graphs (which I have used in the past).

HGSI
“installs” over QP2. There is a slimmed down version of HGSI
included with QP2. The full blown HGSI allows you to do extensive analysis
using the QP2 database. It also allows you to create your own indexes. The
indexes supplied in QP2 actually come from HGSI, but are only updated one per
week (on Thursday, I believe). Another purpose HGSI serves is that it provides
a cleaner front end interface to the QP2 data. QP2 by it’s self has more
of a text/script based interface instead. I used QP2 & HGSI for several
years, but I found that Amibroker replaced HGSI but you do lose the daily
updating of the indexes. I don’t use QP2 or HGSI anymore. They have
reasonably priced data, but is seems like there was a lot of intensive manual
maintenance (on the part of QP2 personnel) to keep the data clean.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for sharing that with me. QP2 looks
interesting. How does it
differ from HGSI? Can AB read all the data
fields from QP2? And how
about HGSI?
