I have been getting the AB Crash Recovery System quite frequently
lately. Hardly a day goes by where I don't get at least one.
Re-starting AB seems to repair everything for a while.
* this behavior has only started recently (1 month)
* Virus check done - OK
* Spyware check done - OK - only 2 detected
* other Windows programs running OK - not crashing
* OS is WinXP Pro SP2
* seems to occur at random times - maybe more frequently after running
AmiQuote.
* like today I updated the database and I got a Crash, then I clicked
'continue' and was able to save the downloaded data. But the Crash
screen continued to appear.
* I copied the DataBase to a Laptop I have - and extensively thrashed
it - and it ran perfectly. So evidently the database is not at fault.
* I re-loaded the 4.70 Upgrade thinking that maybe it would replace
the offending module. No change in behavior.
* An associated problem is that the 'Layouts' tab entries go blank -
sometimes at the same time as the Crash occurs, sometimes without.
* In all cases re-starting AB fixes everything for a while.
I'm out of ideas - anyone have some more suggestions??
