Glen,
If there are any symbol changes (due to new listings,
delistings and code changes) in the Metastock data format, Amibroker needs to be
told to retrieve the symbols again. You should periodically click the
Retrieve Symbols button inside the File -> Database Settings
configuration.
It'd be great if Amibroker would periodically do this
(perhaps upon opening of the database) as it only takes half a second or so on
my PC even with lots of data folders. In fact, I'll send this in as an
improvement request on the Amibroker web site.

Hi,
I have a stock that is merging with another. The first
stock ABC is
worth approx $13 and the second XYZ is approx $4. I will get
4.234 XYZ
shares for one of the ABC shares.
What I have done is
addtocomposite ABC divided by 4.234, then renamed
it to XYZ.
Now I
have downloaded data for XYZ but it is not being updated on the
XYZ symbol
in Amibroker. If I look at XYZ under Metastock I can see
it. I use Metastock
data source in Amibroker.
Any idea why the stock isn't
updating?
