No, that makes sense. You are getting the benefit of opening gaps. This
can be done, sort of, with a real-time feed. You can get this free with
QuoteTracker. Choose Mixed EOD/RT data. Now you can watch your EOD
signals change with every tick during the day. At 3:55 or as late as you
can, you can trade the Close or close to it. Some stock can be even
bought after the close, such as e-mini's

It wasn't my point though.
I get a good result if I bought at Close on the day the signal came out.
I get a poor result if I buy at Open the next day after the signal has
come out.
I felt it was strange, but maybe that's how it is.
