Re: [amibroker] CSI data in AB -- so few users

Chuck:

I know why you would like to use CSI future data - it has a
traditional claim to being very clean and reliable.

I use CSI's stock data because it is the only place I can
get delisted stock data. CSI has exceptional products in
both the futures and stock areas.

Last month I talked to CSI's support including a
conversation with the chief programmer about a particular
enhancement I wanted to see for the stock export to AB.

My (our) problem getting enhancements on to their To Do
list is this -- very few AB users currently use CSI. When I
talked to CSI, they were aware of fewer than 10.

Being such a small number, business logic does not dictate
the allocation of programming resources. And we have no
"leverage": we could all cancel our CSI subscriptions
without causing a tiny ripple on their bottom line.

In the end the CSI decided to implement the enhancement I
suggested, but I consider myself very lucky.

I expressed the view that the stock export enhancement will
make CSI more attractive to Amibroker customers. I hope
that is true because I would feel more secure about
continued support by CSI for AB, if the customer base would
increase. When that upgrade with my export enhancement
comes out, I plan to present a few case studies on this AB
forum to show the value of using CSI stock data.

All the best on getting CSI's future data into Amibroker.
In the short term, the MetaStock export is likely the best
route to pursue.
