i have logged on and off a few times today and had no problem with backfills
on any futures symbol. i just tried it again, and got a good backfill on
6ez5...
i know this doesn't help you--but at least IB is still working. I am in the
US, and IB does have servers in different countries---yours may have a
problem.. go to Chat and ask customer support.

Today, suddenly, I cannot connect to the IB feed for 6EZ5-GLOBEX-FUT. All
of the other symbols are fine. Right clicking on the green "CONN" area in
the lower right brings up the backfill choices for other symbols, but not
for this one. This is true when I open other databases as well. Is there a
connection log to help debug such a problem? Thanks
