I have Esig & I also use the MT plug. Plugin works fine for me. What I did find was that after setting up the database I opened a new chart with the "Day" interval selected. I never had a problem with chart backfills that way.

As for Esig, be aware draws from 200+ contributors. So the feed is indicative & spiky. Ok for 1hr+ charts but on smaller TF's can be very spiky.

I tried it and am experiencing the same issues like not been able to gather more data after the first connection.  I haven't experience any lockups yet.  THe only time it will update data is if I delete all the symbols and add them again.  But it becomes a very tedious work.  Maybe Esignal is the best way to go.
