Subject: [amibroker] Candle width for various duration + data compression

i got a little stuck evaluating AB for my needs with a friend who has been using it.

here is what i tried.

I get realtime data in AB, but say after a week to compress the data I export it as 5 min ohlcv and reimport. This reduces the database size by 10-15 times..

Now when i get data again (real time next day) the "thickness" of new ticks (every 2-3 secs) remain the same as that of the 5 minute candle.. (since now the view mode is "tick" and not 5 minute).
During active trades I would like to look at tick by tick data, while not messing up the charts symmetry. 2-3 sec ticks should be thinner when compared to 5 min candles.. else the time looks too streched.

Is there a way to control this. (i can see that this is not a bug, but how can i accomodate my req)
summary:
Candles should consume only as much space as they denote in time..
in brief can a 1 min candle be 5 times thinner than a 5 minute candle..

Also is there some automatic way to compress data of some past duration to higher time duration candles. ==>> means say to compress tick data to 5 min candles?
since for many users after the trading day is over keeping very minute tick moves might not be necessary.

In case my above description is not clear kindly ask.

cheers
rajeev
