I dunno - if TJ ever gets back maybe he can shed some light on this.  I don't have time to play in the sandbox and try to fig this stuff out.

D, as I shared with Joe L off line, I had spent a good bit of time at Wiki trying to get it to "take" a pasted in AFL code copied from AB editor.  It seems to not have a LF/CR set for a pasted in series of lines (of code).  They all ran together unless there was a blank line in AB ("extra" LF/CR??).  The formatting help page seemed to have a ton of ways to make formulas and tables and other stuff (but it was all seemingly very complicated). but I did not see anything for getting code pasted in so it can be copied out in a useable fashion.  Maybe there is something simple I am missing, but if not, then I think the wiki idea is flawed for the kind of "teaching place" that I assume many would want.  Wiki was created initially for an "encyclopedia" environment---lots of text, links to other text, and pictures--not for the code that we would want to put into it.

Maybe I'm incorrect, but I don't think so.

Subject: [amibroker] Poss Idea For Wiki Thingi

How about we come up with a comprehensive test AFL formula and a sample data
base that can be downloaded and run on our machines and the results could be
posted on the wiki along with our machine's configurations?  This way we can
start getting some decent idea of what combinations of
processor/memory/motherboard/disk drive combinations can produce in terms of
speed vs cost.

In addition to the sample data base - it would be even better for those that
subscribe to data services to run the formula using that data.

If this is an idea that a number of people like then we need to make sure we
have a common set of results that we can post so that reasonable comparisons
can be made.  This could possibly be done automatically if we set up the
test system to run via automation..

If you think this idea has merit then suggest what you think the metrics
should be.
