Hi,

TC2K plugin already imports all indices and creates an "Indexes" group at the bottom of the workspace. If you want to create watchlists with fewer indices, you could just do one of the following:

1) For just a few indices, select each ticker from the tree, then right-click to add them to a watchlist.

2) For more than a few, clear the AA filter and then check the "indexes" box. Then run this code in explorer to get a results list of all the indices:

Filter = 1;
AddTextColumn( FullName(), "Index" );

Then you can select whichever ones you want from the list and right-click to add them to a watchlist. To select more than one at a time, just use the shift or ctrl keys while making your selections.

Tom,

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your question, but why not use an AB Watch list and just add the TC index symbols?

Below is a process that I figured out.  There may be a simpler and more elegant way of doing it, but I’m not sure how.

FYI… If we can clean up this process a bit, we might want to add it to our WikiWiki or maybe Tomasz can add it to the documentation.

Regards,

Dan.

1)       In Telechart, select a watchlist tab and then from the watchlist drop down, select “System Watchlists à All indexes”.

2)       This will display all of the TC Index symbols in a watchlist.

3)       Select Databank à Export to Text.

4)       Ensure that you are just exporting the symbol (in the “Export Fields (in Order)” selection window.

5)       Select “Single File” and a file name.

6)       Click Export.

1)       In AB, go to “Symbol à Categories à Watch lists”

2)       Select and rename two target watch lists – one to hold all indices; one to hold key indices.   Mine are named “Key Indices (6)” and “All indices (30)”.  (I include the Watch list number to the end to keep track of the number.)

3)       Now go to Symbol à Watch list à Import.

4)       Select the “All Indices” target watchlist.

5)       Navigate to the folder where you saved the TC index symbols and select the file.

6)       Click “Open”

7)       In the AB Workspace window, check “Symbols à Watch lists à All Indices (30)” (or whatever you name your watchlist).  You should see it filled with all of the TC Index symbols.

8)       Note the symbols that you want to include in the target “Key Indices (6)” watchlist.

9)       Now go to “Symbol à Organize Assignments”

10)   Click the “Watch lists” radio button.

11)   On the left select “All Indices (30)” as your source watchlist.  On the right, select the target “Key Indices (6)” watchlist.

12)   On the left, select the index symbols that you want to include in your Key Indexes folder and click the “>” button.  This moves them to the right.

13)    Click “Close”

14)   In the AB Workspace window, check “Symbols à Watch lists à Key Indices (6)”.  You should now see a list of your key indices.

Alternatively, you could skip steps 8-15 and select each symbol in the “All Indices (30)” watchlist, right-click, select “Watchlist à Add selected symbol…”.  This is a bit simpler, but you only do it one symbol at a time.
