[amibroker] Esignal and scan speed

Hello,
I am using esignal for a live data feed for the ASX. When I use 
Amibrokers 'scan' it takes about 20 minutes to traverse the 1700+ 
stocks of the exchange.
How do you design a daytrading system if it takes so long to do a scan 
of all stocks or am I not using Amibroker correctly?
