TJ has explained in the update about the format for the different symbols
from different commodity exchange.  on the IB web site is a list of all the
contracts, which list the symbol.  you must add the month, the exchange, fut
or ??.  if you don't have the latest version--get it.  the IB plug-in works
just dandy.

just click Symbol on the toolbar, and then click New.

the june EUR is 6em5-globex-fut for the full and e7m5-globex-fut for the
mini.  the Naz e mini is nqm5-globex-fut.  remember with futures, they do
expire and then you must switch to the next month.  this just happened with
the qmm5 and i had to change the symbol in AB from m (june) to n (july).
while it's not a continuous chart of crude--it's close enuf...

i don't trade options, so i can't help you there.

Hi,

Can somebody please give me an example how to enter the futures and
options symbols for Interactive Brokers?

I had a look at http://www.amibroker.com/ib.html  but it doesn't
work.  I can get other applications to receive intraday data from IB,
but the same symbols won't work through AB RT which is very
strange.

For example what symbol would be used in AB for "EUR" june contract
and what symbol for "GE RG" option.
