Hello Herman,

I have noticed that people tend to use the following futures for day
trading:

E-mini S&P
Mini Dow
E-Mini Russell 2000
E-mini Nasdaq 100

These are all very liquid and tend to have comparatively low
transaction costs.

There's also Mini Crude Oil traded on the Nymex Access, but this is
not very liquid and the spread can be wide. I think there's only
about 10,000 contracts traded each day of this compared to something
like 1 million + for the ES.

There are other mini contracts in agricultural products, gold,
currency etc but I don't know much about them.

If you want to day trade futures (personally don't recommend it)
then you can trade any future contract you like, it doesn't have to
be a mini contract.

Regards

Sam
