One last thing, I've found this to be really useful:

If your thumbdrive doesn't have syncing software, this is an open
source java-based sync program that allows you to sync multiple
directories.

Basically you would run it:
- at home before you leave. (sync entire AB directory)
- when you get to 2nd machine. (sync data directory)
- before you leave 2nd machine. (resync data directory)
- at home after you return. (resync entire AB directory)

The program makes it much faster and easier. And allows to transfer
all changes to AB settings/AFL etc.
