I dont know if I well understand the question.
I am not fluent in enghish.
Translate tableau to table maybe.
Tableau is the french word.
If I have to do the job you are trying to do, I process this way.
Open Word.
Copy your files in Word.
Choose : Edit / Select all.
Choose : Tableau / Convert / Text to Tableau
Then choose the right separator to you.
Choose : Edit / Select all.
Choose : Edit / Copy
Open Excel
Choose one cell
Choose : Edit / Past
