Hi
IB do periodic maintenance. I trade the
Australian market and had to move from a US to a Hong Kong server to get around
the problem of the server being down for maintenance. This could be one cause.
You can also loose data if your machine
locks up and you need to reboot without first saving the IB data. An auto
save facility would be a good idea here for real time users. Run to many
applications at once, or go off and do an exploration can cause lock up so make
a point of saving data if you are going to run additional applications that may
put an excessive load onto your computer.
All the best
Ken
