When I boot up my PC ...it behaves differently
than it used to ... takes longer ... displays screens it never did ... etc and
displays some hex codes at lower right corner ... such as 0078 and 00B1
...
Does anyone know what these are or a source to
find out info?
wm - I assume that you have
not made any major changes (e.g., installation, network configuration,
hardware, etc.) and are virus and spyware free. If so, a good way to get
a feel for what is going on is to download and run HijackThis (http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/) in
order to get a listing of programs, etc. that are activated during start
up. You can then selectively deactivate suspicious items. If there
is a need to go further, you can post the HijackThis log on any of
a number of internet boards and get some help (do a Google for with
keywords like hijackthis slow boot up, etc. to find the
boards).
