I think where I would see benefits of an "Apply" function would be if one
were making significant changes to an indicator in a pane. At times you do
not want those changes saved, just a "what if I did this" scenario.
If an apply button (without saving back to file) were available, it would
mean you don't have to worry about overwriting your indicator and in the
cases of bulky code, forgetting what exactly you changed...

To do this I think Tomasz would have to use some sort of temporary file
mechanism, as I think for the indicators changes to reflect, there must
exist a file. Or the other possibility is having the code that represent a
chart be totally separate than those of the indicators that make it up.
i.e., when you right click on a pane and select edit, you are not editing
your formula, but just the instance on that formula on the chart.

Dimension,

I see what you mean. You want to have the same basic indicator,
associated with just one file name, have multiple chart panels but
with different parameters applied.

I think what Anthony and I are saying is that we would want to keep
an Apply button in addition to the Insert Chart button so that
Amibroker would know what the intention of the user was.

Steve

[Having said this, in Dimension's case, Amibroker would have to keep
track of the parameters each window is using and know they're
associated with the one indicator file name]
