I have had nothing but trouble with my local network and a number
of
programs after insatlling SP SP2. I have a number of programs that
no longer work with a shared printer system and I had to take XP off
and install W98SE on the print server to get it to work and that did
not fix all the problems. I even had to install some programs on my
printe server and transfer the files to it to get them to print. It
looks like Microsoft really screwed up this time.
But with
this many people having problems they may be fixed in a
hurry. With that
in mind the first and best place to start is
Microsofts support site and
look for errors of this type usingt
their knowledge base. They may have
patches for them already. If you
allow auto updates from Microsoft they
may just disappear over time,
if you have the patience to wait. If that
does not help, uninstall
SP2 and see if that helps. I have had it with SP2
and am about to do
just that. I am having too much of a production hit to
keep SP2 on
my systems.
