[amibroker] To Ed: What about life-long license? (Re: Weak dollar - rise in selling prices)

Hi Ed,

Point taken. I am well aware of the "dependence" risk, and have
discussed this with Tomasz privately. My request for a "lifetime"
license was more symbolic, to express my confidence in its future,
and to counter, what I believe are ridiculous, complaints about this
price rise.

This discussion also highlights, again, that people use AB
differently, and thus have diverse expectations. As you and I have
discussed on a previous occassion (if I'm not mistaken) we both look
for example at "high-end" analysis software to link to/communicate
with AB. Also, my data-provider has created the feed which with I
fill my AB-databases. In other words, my feed is adjusted to AB, not
the other way around.

Enough said. The markets are moving.

reaction is rediculous. Like it is not appropriate to consider
possible scenarios. A lifetime license isn't of much use if nobody
will write the upgrades. Clearly somebody doesn't understand that
this program will need continues maintenance for it to stay
functioning. If eSignal decides to make a small change in their code
Amibroker will have to react. Do I hurt people by considering this??
I do not understand.
