There is a preference setting named 'Enable loop termination by
SHIFT+BREAK' and a further setting that specifies the frequency with
which the system checks for these key strokes, I think the the default
is 50.
To terminate the loop open the commentary window and hold down the
SHIFT key and then press the BREAK key.
Also ensure your endless loop threshold is set to a minimum of
10000. This will cause the loop to exit after 10000 iterations.
