This should work:

Beta = ((open + close)/(open - close));
Alpha = Beta + ref(Beta,-1);

  Dear sir ,
          I would like some help regarding initialising a variable.
  Example:
           Alpha = ((open + close)/(open - close))+ref(alpha,-1);
  I get error "var use without initialising".

  My problem is i am using a var alpha and need alpha of yesterday so
  how do i initialise it .
      Thanks for the help;

  My-monkey.
