Hello,

Please think before giving advices to the others.

If you tell him NOT to save preferences - every change
to preferences will be LOST when you close the computer.
User will be then confused that changes made to PREFERENCES
(Tools->Preferences) are not saved.

So definitely "Save on EXIT" should be ON for "preferences".

And actually WORKSPACE/ALERT window positions are saved
in the REGISTRY and settings you mentioned have no influence on this.
