Yuki, can you make the data into a text file (csv) by copy/paste and import
this to AB. Should be relatively easy to do with excel to create the right
format from your data source.

Hi Dave,

I'm glad to hear it.

There is another area or two where the QE in AB pales compared to the
MS DL:

When you put the cursor on a field in the DL, that ENTIRE field is
selected automatically -- you just start typing and in goes the data.
With the QE, if you put the cursor in a field (O,H, etc.) with a zero
in it, you must double-click to select that zero before you can begin
entering data; otherwise, you will simply *append* to the zero. Not
the best thing. Subsequent tabbing selects all the data in any field
allowing immediate type-over, but why not the initial cursor
placement?

Moreover, the MS DL makes updating single price field data (like my
sub indices) very easy. I enter any one price field data (I use Open
because it's first), and then move to the next security. You are
prompted for a save, and when you do, the DL fills in all the other
price fields with the same value. With the QE, I must apparently type
the same value four times, which doesn't even count tabbing to the
next field, or NOTHING is registered in AB's local database. This is
a real shame. If 'Open' contains data, and no data is entered
elsewhere, I'd like to see the program help me save a little time and
trouble, as the DL does.

But . . . the MS DL is apparently broken forever in SP-2. And there
is certainly no future in it anyway.

TJ, you know better than me or anyone . . . where is your user base?
It is asking for more and more complexity that the average user is
unlikely to ever use, or is it asking for some cosmetic and
functionality improvements? Personally, I think you've swung toward
the former for a while, and the latter needs some attention.
Obviously, neither can be ignored and I understand that. I myself
want pyramiding (or more specifically, partial position
liquidations), all of which takes your precious time away from these
other things.

Can you clone yourself, maybe? ^_-
