It has been over a year since I surveyed what was available
for EOD data.
CSI includes delisted (inactive) stocks and actual trading
prices (as well as the usual split adjusted prices). Actual
trading prices is essential if one wants to backtest
strategies that include a price filter, such as stocks
between $3 and $10. This is the data provider I selected.
No fundamental data (at least not any data that is easy to
access).
QP2 includes some fundamental data, but no inactives and no
actual trading prices. The history for the fundamental data
is rather limited.
TC2000 includes some unique items.
Yahoo is free and it includes actual trading prices as well
as split adjusted prices.
