Let's extend that idea a bit. Given that the indicator has been below
the 0 line for more than 5 bars and is therefore, say, red:
How do we keep it red if the indicator pokes back above the 0 line for a
single bar? (Assuming that we consider a one-bar recovery insignificant.)
How do we turn it to some neutral color--say, white--if the indicator
pokes above the 0 line for long enough to make us wonder whether it is
changing direction (say, for example, three bars or more), but has not
yet reached our more-than-five-bar trigger point?
I actually played with this general notion, with a different indicator,
a couple of years ago but (as is all too often the case) got too
twisted-up in the logic to produce a viable answer.
Thanks.
