I did not miss the links. However, the data
shown does not really answer the question as to whether Lucas is better than
Fibonacci. As a result, I ran a comparison that did not show a difference
and then asked you if you could demonstrate the difference. What I did was
to superimpose on your chart the bar count for obvious pivots from the previous
pivot (red numbers on chart). The total difference between
these bar numbers and the closest number in four series (Lucas, Modified Lucas
(includes 14 & 22), Fibonacci, and Modified Fibonacci (analagous to Modified
Lucas with 16 & 26 included) was determined. The average of these runs
and the corresponding 1 sigma are shown on the chart. Within each subset
(modified and unmodified) there is essentially no difference between Lucas and
Fibonacci. So on the basis of this analysis choose your poison but I am
not too comfortable with modifying either series. Although I would be
surprised, backtesting might demonstrate an advantage one way or the other
in terms of the bottom line.
