Hi,
Built-in Indicator code is saved in the binary file
broker.bcharts, which TJ talks about in Message 34884:
There are only two files that you should back up:<FONT
color=#ffffff>
broker.bcharts (all built-in charts (in fact interpretation code
only))<FONT
color=#ffffff> broker.charts (your custom
indicators). Restoring them will bring back buit-in
and/or custom indicators.BTW,
if you make changes to a Built-in indicator's code, you can also save
it as an AFL text file, using the Save formula button in IB. <FONT
face=Arial size=2>Note though that, whenever the 'Save As' dialog comes up,
as it would in this case, notice the name it is being Saved As--so that you
don't overwrite the wrong, previously saved file, which the prompted
file name represents.
HTH,
-john

formulas in IB
<SPAN
>Paul,Someone else needs to explain. I just
noticed in using it that you can indeed load whatever you wish into any
formula by using CTRL E on any chart. That chart will have a name and it may
be a built-in name. The loaded AFL will stay there until you change it. If you
SAVE FORMULA it saves it under the current name unless you choose New and put
it there. I know there’s a way to recover a built-in formula if you
did this. It may not even really save anything. As to where it’s stored or
what really happens, someone more knowledgeable please jump
in.TH--
<SPAN
>Terry:Since LOAD FORMULA prompts me to
select an AFL file, I infer that you are saying that the Built-In indicators
are not hardwired into AB, but rather are a set of standalone AFL files
living somewhere in the AmiBroker folder tree. Yes?If so, I do
indeed see some AFL files under C:\Program Files\Amibroker\AFL, but I don't
see any file with a name resembling "Equity Line". Do you happen to
know what the name is for that particular "Built-In" AFL file?Thank
you. -PaulAt 05:18 AM 5/15/2004, you
