hi Yuki,
thanks for your reply.
I translated his method out of curiosity if it
would work. I will have to rewrite the code for intraday data which will be a
new challenge for me. On a first glanse, looking at the signals in the EOD data
chart I am not sure if it will be a working system. If you have a strong trend
it is able to catch is but false moves seem to give a lot of loosing trades
also.
Thanks for your suggestions. I'll think about
it.
Maybe I'll post the code on a later date if I get
it fixed for intraday data.
rgds, Ed

Welles Wilder.I read the book years ago, ran the system on a paper
trade basis, anddecided I would never run it with real money. The
draw downs arejust too large for me, despite my affection for
WW.With respect to the double signals on one day, you need to find a
wayaround that. Aside from the fact that the back tester doesn't
knowwhich trade comes first, this is really hurtful draw downs
takeplace, the kind of minuses that simply destroy confidence and lead
tothrowing in the towel.I will tell you that I use a somewhat
similar system now that Ideveloped myself. Initially, it too had the
possibility of doublesignals (in opposite directions on the same
day). But I found if Icoded the possibility out of existence (set a
condition that allowedonly one way or the other on any particular day) I
could live justfine with the results.Once you get code for this,
run some explorations looking for doublesignals. If there are more than
just a very, very few, you need tocode in something that prevents this,
IMO.I never coded this into AB however. I'm not sure there was
an ABthen, and I would have massacred the code anyway.
