You can always "read" the Y-coordinate (vertical position) of the
mouse in the status bar at the bottom. If you want to "record" the Y-
coordinate when the mouse is clicked (for reference after the mouse
goes elsewhere), you could click with the horizontal line tool
active, and the coordinates will remain in the line properties until
the line is either moved or deleted. Is this what you mean?
