It's forex-speak for a tick, the minimum price movement allowed in your
trading vehicle. It's 0.0001 for EUR/USD and GPB/USD. For other
exchange rates, it gets kind of weird. For USD/JPY, it's
0.00009009009009009009. I think pips are calculated as fractions of a
dollar (at least here in the States), but everything I really know about
forex went into that first sentence. It looks like a really interesting
market, but the to-do list is so long already!
Maybe if I could find a source of real-time foreign-exchange data for AB
that cost less than $1K a month....
